basketball player Coed Basketball (Winter Months only) - Tuesday

Basketball runs 7-9 p.m., Tuesday evenings (usually), typically starting Oct-Nov, until March-April (check calendar for dates). Most (not all) of the games are at the Loiederman Middle School, on 12701 Goodhill Road in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Occasionally games are at the nearby Weller Road Elementary School on 3301 Weller Road.

Exceptions to usual time and place:

Directions to the Loiederman Middle School: From Tysons Corner, Virginia and Bethesda, Maryland, take the Beltway (Route 495) to Exit 33 (Route 185 Connecticut Avenue). At the end of the ramp, take a left on Connecticut Avenue toward Kensington. Proceed for 2 miles, to where Connecticut Avenue takes a sharp left, then stay on Connecticut Avenue for another 2.3 miles. Turn right onto Weller Road (There’s a set of traffic lights at the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Weller Road). Proceed on Weller Road for 1/10 mile and go through the intersection of Weller and Goodhill Roads. The driveway entrance to the Loiederman Middle School is about 50 yards further down Weller Road on the left.

From College Park, Maryland, take the Beltway (Route 495) to Exit 31 (Georgia Avenue, Route 97). At the end of the ramp, take a right (North) on Georgia Avenue. Proceed on Georgia Avenue for 3.9 miles, through 14 sets of lights, and take a left onto Weller Road (the Glenmont United Methodist Church is on Georgia Avenue on the right, at the corner of Weller Road). The driveway entrance to the Loiederman Middle School is 0.7 mile down on the right, about 50 yards before the intersection of Weller and Goodhill Roads.

Via Metro: Take the Red Line to Glenmont. Take the Aspen Hill Bus (Number 41), which leaves Glenmont Station at 6:28 p.m., 6:58 p.m., and 7:28 p.m. Ask the driver to stop at the Loiederman Middle School on Weller Road, at the intersection of Weller and Goodhill Roads. Drive time to the Loiederman Middle School is about 7 minutes. When basketball concludes, carpool rides will be provided back to Glenmont Station. (Note: There is bus service to Glenmont Station from the Red Line Twinbrook Station by taking the Hillandale/Glenmont Metro, Bus Number 10.)

woman bowlerCoed Bowling - Sunday

Sundays at 7 p.m. See calendar for exact dates.

Bowling typically runs from the first Sunday in October to the last Sunday in April at Bowl America Lanes on 1101 Clopper Road in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Cost is $13 per week for the games. All skill levels are welcome.

Bowling takes a break on December 25 (Christmas), January 1 (New Years Day), February 5 (Super Bowl), and April 8 (Easter) before finishing up for this season on May 1.

Directions to Bowling: From the Beltway (Route 495) take Route 270 North to Exit 10. At the stop light at the end of the exit, proceed right unto Route 117 (West Diamond Avenue becomes Clopper Road) West. Go 4 more stop lights (approx 1.1 miles). The 4th light is at the intersection of Clopper Road and West Watkins Mill Road. Bowl America is on your right after the intersection. Lost? Call Bowl America at 301-330-5200.

Or, from the North, take Route 270 south to Exit 11, Quince Orchard Road. Turn right onto Route 117, Clopper Road. It less than a mile to the intersection of Clopper Road and West Watkins Mill Road . Lost? Call Bowl America at 301-330-5200.

volleyball player Coed Summer Volleyball - Tuesday

Volleyball "Outdoor season" typically starts in mid-May and goes through the Summer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings (see calendar for exact dates).

Players of all skill levels including beginners are welcome for our weekly pickup game. Come and meet new friends and enjoy the fun and exercise of friendly, somewhat competitive outdoor volleyball. No cost. Location is Lewinsville Park off Chain Bridge Road in McLean, Virginia.

Directions to Tuesday Summer Volleyball: Take Beltway (Route 495) to exit 46B (Route 123 North/McLean). Proceed on Route 123 North for 1.3 miles and turn right onto Great Falls Street (at a traffic light). Proceed on Great Falls Street and take the first left onto Chain Bridge Road (another traffic light here). Proceed on Chain Bridge Road for 0.3 mile and take a right into Lewinsville Park.

Volleyball "Winter season" typically runs from November through March at a location in Montgomery County.

Exceptions to usual time and place:

No volleyball if Montgomery County Schools close for bad weather.

Players of all skill levels including beginners are welcome for our weekly pickup game. Come and meet new friends and enjoy the fun and exercise of friendly, somewhat competitive indoor volleyball. Cost is $5 for nonmembers and $3 for members. Location is the Chevy Chase Elementary School on 4015 Rosemary Street in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Directions To Winter Volleyball: Directions: From Virginia, take the Beltway (Route 495) North. Take Exit 39 (River Road) toward Washington. Turn left at Goldsboro Road. Make a right when Goldsboro ends at Bradley Boulevard. Stay in the right lane. Once you cross Wisconsin Avenue Bradley Boulevard becomes Bradley Lane. Make a left on Connecticut Avenue and a right on Rosemary Street. Proceed on Rosemary Street for 0.2 miles and turn right into the Chevy Chase Elementary School.

From Laurel, Maryland, take the Beltway (Route 495) to Route 185/Chevy Chase-Kensington (Exit 33 - Connecticut Avenue). At the end of the ramp, take a left on Route 185 towards Chevy Chase. At the ninth set of lights, take a right onto Rosemary Street. Proceed on Rosemary Street for 0.2 miles and turn right into the Chevy Chase Elementary School.
