April 28, Weekend at Lost River State Park, WV

Enjoy a beautiful spring weekend with CAC on its 15th annual trek to Lost River State Park in Mathias, West Virginia from Friday, April 28 to Sunday, April 30.

Located in the West Virginia mountains, Lost River State Park - about a 2.5 hour drive from Washington, DC - encompasses several thousand acres of woodlands and a profusion of recreation facilities. From an invigorating hike to “Cranny Crow,” with its commanding views of the surrounding ridges, you can stroll around park headquarters, enjoy a book on a park bench under the massive branches of an ancient pine, or play a game of volleyball or Frisbee. There will be tennis, cards, and board games (such as Mars and Venus and Taboo). You can sit around a crackling fire and eat great food in the fresh mountain air.

We will stay in well equipped, yet rustic cabins at Lost River State Park. All of the cabins feature a natural stone, wood burning fireplace; bathrooms with showers; and fully equipped kitchens with modern appliances, cooking utensils, and tableware. Towels, dishcloths, blankets, and bed linens are also provided.

The cost is $85 for non-members and only $75 for members and includes all food and lodging. Reservations required well in advance.
